Bright Futures - Fireside Pavilion

Existing Pavilion
Pavilion Construction

In the fall of 2015, we had the opportunity to be involved with a group of volunteers from Buckhead Church, located here in Atlanta.  For several weeks, we were able to help a local organization, Bright Futures Atlanta, with general up keep and maintenance of thier facilities.  Bright Futures Atlanta is a Christian-based, year-round program offering academic instruction and after-school programming during the school year and camp during the summer.

During that time, it became clear to us that the existing pavilion was in need of extensive repair.  As a group, we devised a fundraising campain for all materials needed.  Once the money was raised, The Hamlin Group wanted to sieze an opportunity to give back to the community that had given so much of themselves by designing and constructing the new pavilion.

During the "Do Justice" campain, sponsored by Buckhead Church, we had our own version of "move that bus!" from the popular show Extreme Makeover Home Edition.   Once the old pavilion was safetly torn down, work began on the new pavilion.

This project was a change of pace for us, a lot of fun and extremely rewarding.  We hope that Bright Futures Atlanta will be able to use this to continue enriching the lives of the Atlanta youth.  Enjoy the pictures and please go to www.bfatl.org to learn more about the initiatives of Bright Futures Atlanta.
